EA Fault code
Worcester Boilers have the ‘EA’ Fault code which is a common issue we get called out to.
The EA fault code definetly requires its own heading as it is such a common fault and can be caused by such a large number of issues.
The manufactures definition for this is- Flame not detected.
Straight forward issues that can cause this fault are:
- Blocked condensate pipe
- Blocked/ restricted flue
- No Gas on in the property
If these initial checks are all ok our engineer will then investigate further and perform a flue gas analysis. This is a very simple process and can help rectify a large amount of EA fault codes.
With the Flue gas analysis results, the engineer can adjust the air gas ratio on the gas valve to get the boiler performing correctly.
If the flue gas analysis results are ok and the EA fault is still there. The engineer can then look at the flame rectification device for ware.
Check the boilers bearing plate to ensure its not ‘sticking’
Ensure the gas pressure is correct
Check the fan speed and burner pressure
Perform a strip down service on the boiler clearing any debris and potential blockages in the heat exchanger
